M eet the Builder

Tom Longley is our owner and builder. He received a BS
in Ag Engineering from Colorado State in 1974 and was named Rotary Foundation
Graduate Fellow Abroad at the University of Melbourne Australia in 1975, where
he received an MEng Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1976. He earned a PhD
in Civil Engineering from the University of Idaho in 1985 while working on
energy-related studies.
His first home was built 1982 in Aberdeen, Idaho and incorporated many of the features found today in Castle Homes, including the double wall construction, the slab floor for thermal mass and the passive solar glazing with engineered overhangs. Dr. Longley has been a licensed Professional Engineer since 1979 and has held numerous offices, including president, in regional engineering societies. He was also the charter chairman of the Aberdeen-American Falls Ducks Unlimited Chapter in 1979 and again in 1983. He has a continuing interest in aviation and holds a multi- engine, instrument pilot's license.
